More than 21 million acres in Kansas are harvested for crops, and more than 16 million pastureland is utilized for grazing animals. Farmland accounts for more than 88% of all Kansas land.

In 2023, Kansas achieved a record-high export value of $14.08 billion, marking an increase of nearly $66.89 million, or 0.48 percent, compared to the previous year. This surpasses the previous peaks of $14.02 billion in 2022 and $12.5 billion in both 2021 and 2008.

Kansas is also quickly becoming the new dairy frontier in the United States In 2023, Kansas was home to 176,000 dairy cows, producing 4.2 billion pounds of milk. This represents a significant increase compared to 2014 when Kansas had 143,000 cows and produced 3.1 billion pounds of milk.
